Hi, I’m April!

 

I am new to Hobart and to IKOT, having just moved and started my TA position in early May. 

 

I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, which I obtained in Sydney at Macquarie University. After studying, I began my career as a disability support worker for Fighting Chance Australia. This involved working in an accommodation home, supporting the three ladies living there in their everyday lives. I have also spent time working on Hireup, supporting various clients in their home and office settings. These jobs gave me some great experience, and sparked my passion for the disability sector, behaviour support and OT work.

 

To me, working with IKOT is an amazing crossover between several of my passions and strengths and I’m very excited to see where this opportunity may take me! 

 

My personal interests are in playing netball, going to the gym, being outside and being around family.
