Yi-Ching Chen

“Hello, I’m Yi-Ching.

Having grown up in Taiwan, I relocated to Hobart with my partner in 2020. Since then, Tasmania has truly become my second home. During my time in Taiwan, I spent three years tutoring children with neurodiverse profiles while studying for my bachelor’s degree in psychology. This hands-on experience inspired me to pursue further studies. Subsequently, I enrolled in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program at UTAS. During my social work placement, I gained valuable experience in the youth juvenile justice system and adult mental health within a community setting. Additionally, I also acquired case management experience, providing support to children and their parents facing challenges of parental separation.

These experiences have fuelled my passion to become a behaviour support practitioner. I am enthusiastic about the behaviour support profession and committed to continuous professional development. I am eager to embark on the journey of supporting people and their families/caregivers to reach their fullest potential. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, playing the piano, watching movies, and spending quality moments with my family.”
