Independent Kids - Occupational Therapy is a Hobart, Tasmania based service owned and operated by Alison Hopwood. It offers a flexible service to families at home, school, child care and/or in our clinic.

The aim of occupational therapy is to help families build upon their child's strengths and reduce the impact of difficulties within the child's main areas of occupation, that is, home, school, childcare and self care. We work on establishing areas of priority for individual families in order to develop a best-fit program plan.

Independent Kids offering services under the Better Start Initiative - FaHCSIA

Independent Kids as part of the SPOT On consortium is now offering services through the Commonwealth Governements Better Start Initiative. This initiative commenced in July 2011 and provides services to children with: 

* Cerebral palsy

* Down's Syndrome

* Hearing impairment

* Visual impairment

Children can access up to $12,000 of funding by a variety of services up until the age of six years old. For more information you can contact us or Carers Australia Tasmania.
