My name is Annabel and I began my journey at IKOT in October 2021. Alongside this I am also studying to become an occupational therapist, in which I hope to further my creative passion and problem solving skills to work in paediatric settings.
I am 20 years of age and have grown up in Kingston, with the opportunity to be involved in the wonderful surf life saving club and community.
Following graduating from high school at Guilford Young College I moved to Geelong to study a bachelor of Occupational Therapy (honours) at Deakin University in which I have just completed my second year.
I love studying occupational therapy and working as a therapy assistant as I don’t just see progress in clients but I am a part of the progress which is one of the best feelings in the world. I enjoy experiencing milestones with the children I work with and the personal growth and development they undergo.
I am looking forward to one day travelling the world as an occupational therapist and to gain further experience and knowledge in both paediatric and acute neurological rehabilitation settings.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside the supportive and knowledgeable team at IKOT and am looking forward to developing my skills further as both a OT student and therapy assistant.
