Hi I'm Mel,

I started working as a Therapy Assistant at Independent Kids in October 2020 on a part time basis. Prior to that, I worked for 13 years as a Primary School Teacher's Aid mainly providing individual support to children with additional needs and I love that my job at IKOT allows me to continue to provide that support. I love seeing the smiles on people's faces when they are able to complete a task they thought was too hard or impossible - that determination inspires me every day!

I have live all my life in Tasmania, and I have three children, 2 girls and 1 boy, ranging from 28 to 18. Most weekends you are likely to find me wither bushwalking or attempting to climb mountains around Tasmania with my partner Paul. I also enjoy travelling and in the last couple of years have travelled  to Singapore, Vietnam and all around the United Kingdom. This year I have enjoyed being able to discover Tasmania and have travelled extensively around the state.
