Aimee Liu

Hi, my name is Aimee.

I came to Australia in 2018 to pursue my tertiary education in Social Work. Equipped with a Master of Social Work, I am passionate about working with children, people with disabilities and mental health issues. I have completed my placements at university and worked as a Child and Family Counsellor in Queensland.

This has provided valuable experience and insight into using transformative models, narrative approach and trauma informed practice to identify difficulties. It has also provided hands on knowledge of assisting clients from vulnerable groups. I take in pride in my ability to source relevant support resources and develop strategies to enrich and improve lives through improving school attendance, developing learning, activities, music and exercise. With practical experience in building relationships based on trust with clients and assisting them with managing challenging behaviours I enjoy the challenge of assisting young people and their families with complex needs.

Skilled at building rapport, conducting culturally safe counselling practice by using narrative, art and play therapies, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and managing research, NDIS administration and community projects, I am familiar with working in collaboration with other support providers for the benefit of the client.

I am looking forward to meeting you and co-create a bright future together!
